MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Note: All membership applications are reviewed by FOGMA for eligibility.

WHAT TYPES OF GROUPS ARE ELIGIBLE?

All types of family groups and harmonies: couples/duets, trios, quartets, and family bands, etc.  There needs to be at least one immediate family relationship in the group.

Groups that are not inherently known as a family group are asked to refrain from membership.

ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS ON GROUP'S MUSIC GENRE?

FOGMA requires that member groups' music be known first and foremost as Gospel music.  If your performance is mainly secular with some Gospel thrown in, you are not eligible for FOGMA membership.  FOGMA's purpose is to promote families of Gospel music; your message must be Gospel.

As for style and genre, FOGMA supports a variety of music: Southern Gospel and all its "flavors," bluegrass, folk, classical, etc. 

WHAT ARE OTHER REQUIREMENTS?

Every member group must agree with FOGMA's statement of faith and uphold FOGMA's values.

It is perferred every member group have their own website. 

Members are required to keep FOGMA updated about major changes in their ministries.  

Members must provide a current, modest picture of their group.  (Modesty? Read article:  What's So Big About This Modesty Thing, FOGMA?)
