Biography:

 

Charge!  The Nuckols Regiment is named after a real "company" of cavalry in the Civil War.  There were so many Nuckols fighting in a company under Jeb Stuart's 4th Cavalry in Virginia, that they were nicknamed the "Nuckols Regiment."  Our ancestors came from Virginia and we are related to some of the very early settlers in the area, such as William "The Patriot" Nuckols, who supplied the Continental Army with beef and other supplies in Goochland County (the very county Thomas Jefferson was born in).  Willie "The Patriot" even went as far as to drop the second "L" in the Nuckols name (then, Nuckolls) to distance himself from others who were loyal to crown.  We are also direct descendants of Andrew Knight Nuckols who fought for Ohio for the Union, and we have many of his letters between him and his family during the Civil War.

 

We enjoy studying family history, and enjoy the excitement that comes with unearthing a piece of the past.  However, our past family history is not nearly important to us as our present family history. In other words: who we are in Christ.  Only because of Christ we are who we are.  Each one of us has our own personal testimonies, and can all attest to God's saving grace in our lives through our only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Outside of Christ we would still be alienated from the life of God, and would still be enemies of God.  But only because of God's rich mercy, He saved us, not because of anything we had done, but through His incredible kindness towards us in sending His only Son, born of a virgin 2000 years ago.  He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die in our place!  After Jesus died, He rose again, defeated death, and He is coming again soon to judge the world in righteousness!  Our goal as a band is to declare the "Good News," that if one repents (turns from sin) and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, one will saved and  "born-again" by God's Spirit.

 

The Nuckols Regiment consists of John (The Dad) on bass, Teresa on violin, hammered dulcimer, and vocal, Dan on rhythm guitar, and lead, Luke on Banjo, Josh on Mandolin and Angela on Violin.  Our mom, and oldest sister and her family our some of our biggest fans.

  
 We like playing highly rhythmic, toe tapping, hillbilly music.  We also play some Appalachian, and soul-stirring Gospel melodies as well.  We hope that all of our music would glorify God, and point to His Supremacy in all things.
